  • What You Want to Accomplish in 2017 (Personally or in FS2)

I personally want to get into the right college (Purdue) since I want to be an aerospace engineer with the side job of a pilot. What about you guys?

FYI, if you're going to be an Aerospace Engineer it will require a vigorous amount of studying and time. If you want to train to be a pilot, it will take just as much time in ground school / studying in addition to your flight training. The expenses for pilot training from Private to CFI can be up to 70k (assuming you're going for a fixed-wing license). Expenses for college is no joke either. Realistically, there is no "side job" as a pilot. You either dedicate your career to aviation or you dedicate it to Aerospace Engineering. The expenses for pilot training ALONE are immense enough. Just giving you a reality check. It's good to have these aspirations, but due to the amount of money and the amount of dedication needed for both career paths, you need to pick one. I'm a helicopter pilot, and I'm telling you now, if you want to be a successful commercial pilot, that's going to have to be your main focus. You can't just be an aerospace engineer and have a side job as an airline pilot. Only "side" pilot job I can think of is a part time CFI I guess.

                    PS.

If you're serious about becoming a pilot, pursue the Rotorcraft route. Helis are way more fun to fly than fixed winged.
