Manual layup

Guys i just cant manage to do a manu. layup. I press LEFT+UP arrow but it just makes a normal layup and not from left. How do i do it? When am i supposed to press those keys. Like,when i press them it sometimes dunks too whats the perfect time to press UP+LEFT for a manual layup on left when you are on the right side

If you're on the right side of the basket and intend to do a layup to the left side of the basket you have to stand a little behind the basket and then press the up (just to really be behind the basket) + left arrow although i really don't recommend doing it since it fails a lot.

you do it by pressing the keys towards and away from the basket the same time. let say press up going to the basket then press down and D. keep practicing
