This Slow Ass PC . Tips on Speeding up the game

So im using my old PC for now because my current one is getting fixed and i want to play FS2 because im bored but I CANT . . . Well I can but not in these conditions . Graphics are shitty . Game Speed is To slow . Anytime someone drives it got this weird black dash thing following them . LOL any logical fixes to this problem so the game can actually be a lil playable on this PC. (TIPS FOR SMOOTHER GAMEPLAY ON OLD PC)
