  • Beginner Guide

Okay so since I didn't see such a Topic created yet I decided to make it myself eventhough it might be a bit early considering I'm not even level 50 yet. Anyway I think I have a decent enough understanding of the game and I know what beginners are looking for, so I'm trying to help them with this guide. It'll be mainly a compilation of other guides I'll link to (I hope you guys who created the guides and videos will allow me to do this) in order not to search through the whole tips section like I did since it's pretty time consuming and tiring. Okay so here we go:

    Content:

    1. Pay to win or not?
    2. What Character should I choose?
    3. Okay now I know what I want to play but what stats should I add?
    4. How do I level toys and where to get a rare toy?
    5. How do I dunk?

    1. Pay to win or not?

First of all what concerned me the most was if this game is pay to win or not (I feel like it isn't atm and I'm glad about that), so I'll let you know what I know/think so far.

Edit: Still playing, still not thinking it's pay to win even less now I'm having a pretty good time without any equips and cards from bronze/silver/gold boxes which you get after the game. And of course with a normal character who needs special characters anway .

    - What about special characters?

There are special characters which give additional 40 stat points and possibly other small benefits (nothing too good) and you can get them with Cash (I'll refer to cash with the term GKash from now on as it is used ingame) only, surprising thing about it is that you get a completely free buzzer beater coupon for a special character once you reach level 50 it really surprised me positively knowing that and it is a long time motivation for sure.

    - What about clothes that give stat points?

Well as far as I know normal clothes give you a +5 stat attribute you can buy with ingame money (referring to "Ingame money" with the term Points now as used ingame), GKash clothes +10? and then Mileage (Mileage is something you get from buying stuff with GKash) clothes +12/6?, although that sounds rather unfair and a bit pay to win it really isn't that much of an advantage and there are possibilities to get better clothes (from Point balls) without spending GKash.

    - What about skills?

Every skill is obtainable with Points (kudos to gamekiss for this, never change it please) although there is a restriction here which are skill slots, you get 9 free (lvl to 50) skill slots to equip your skills into, and then you can buy 4 more skill slots with GKash (if you really don't want to spend a dime on the game that's okay you can do fine with only 9 skills as well if you are a skilled player), which i've seen various people recommend to get, if you plan to spend real money on the game this is the most important thing to spend it on (getting 2000 GKash is enough to unlock all 4 skill slots which will cost you around 20 bucks). There are 2 more VIP slots which you can get from being a VIP member (ofc you have to buy that with GKash) but they are entirely optional.

    - What about Ceremony?

Ceremony describes the actions you use ingame in case you won a point or just generally emotions you can use in a match. Ceremony is completely "cosmetic" and there are quite a lot of Ceremonies obtainable with Points (even good ones) which makes me really joyful and I have no problem with some being GKash only, neither should you.

    - What about Cards?

You can get cards by using Magic balls (telling you about them later) or with ingame rewards (the boxes you receive at the end of every match), more about luck to get a good set (you might enhance your luck paying for Magic balls but that's not needed as you get enough balls with achievements).

    - What about Toys?

Toys are little fellows you can unlock with Toy Coins which will then follow you around in your lobby waitingroom and pass the ball to you, they also have a certain possibility to "activate" during a match in order to add stats to your character. You can get Toy Coins with Points which then randomly give you either a toy, exp Items or batteries for your toys, the chance to get the toy you want isn't that high so you should be expecting to spend quite a bit before you get what you wish for.

    - Magic balls

    - There are 3 different Magic balls you can obtain which are:

    > Point ball:

You can get this ball with Points and have a chance of getting some alright cards and rare clothes (not obtainable in shop), You can also get attribute items here which give you a higher stat than the clothes in the shop (the attributes will run out in 30 days i believe or maybe 7, and then you'd have to pay gkash to add stats again OR you just use point balls again until you get another set).

    > Card ball:

This is a ball you can either buy with GKash, get from an event or from completing achievements (and there are a lot of achievements that give you this ball so imo it's rather fair), you can get legendary cards and even SP Edition cards from this ball which are the best cards you can get.

    > Item ball:

Another ball you can buy with GKash, get from an event, or from completing achievements, you may also get this ball from your daily quest using gold medals (i recommend doing the daily quest daily (i think that should be obvious)). You can get some neat rare clothes from this ball not obtainable in shop if you're "unlucky" they'll only last for 7days but there are permanent versions too, new rare clothes for the item ball are coming out every now and then with an update.

That's it for the "Pay to win or not?" section and I conclude saying this game is absolutely not pay to win get it and see if you like it, if you do you got a good free game to play!

    2. What Character should I choose?

    - I recommend you to read this to get a general overview of what every positions role is in the game.

    3. Okay now I know what I want to play but what stats should I add?

First of all you wanna check out this guide to get a hold of what stats you should generally use there even is a small guide inside which recommends what stats to use for which position.

    - C (Center)

For a more in-depth guide you can check out this one.

For an even more in-depth guide with lots of text you can check out this as well.

You might as well want to look at this video for a further in-depth guide about positioning and what to do during a match.

    - PF (Power Forward)

For a PF it depends if you either want to play offensivly or defensively here is a guide that will tell you the most important thing about either of the two.

I didn't find much other material here so if you want to help me out you can provide links.

    - SF (Small Forward)

here you can see the most important things for a SF

a bit more organized but from the same origin here.

Apparently this is another good guide, I don't know if it's good since I'm not able to watch it (thank you germany).

Again if you have other material I didn't list, help me out.

    - PG (Point Guard)

    this is all you need.

If you have other material I didn't list, help me out.

    - SG (Shooting Guard)

    this is a great start.

You might also want to check out this on how to position and play in a match.

If you have other material I didn't list, help me out.

Overall you might want to check out this one to get a better grip of your role I recommend watching/reading as many guides as you can even from other roles so you know what they should do and don't blame them for what they're doing.

    4. How do I level toys and where to get a rare toy?

First check out this for some more tips you can check this and the last post of this.

    5. How do I dunk?

PF (Power Forward) and C (Center) can dunk at will pressing F. Others dunk only from time to time it's pretty random (except for SF (Small Forward), SF dunks a lot it's pretty much 50/50 for SF) though you may use a freestyle in order to dunk at will.

Thanks for reading my guide for beginners hope I could help you somehow. Credit goes to all the awesome people that created these very helpful guides and videos thank you guys!

I'm going to add more stuff as I play on, I also plan to add some pictures making it less tiring to read. If you got any more content that you feel should be added for beginners please say so. Also if I wrote complete gibberish feel free to burn me.

THIS GAME IS NOT PAY TO WIN/ADVANTAGE SHUT UP.

Pay for advantage doesn't mean pay to win though, and i never stated that you don't get certain bonuses for paying but that doesn't mean that the system is bad, since your skill matters way more than your stats.
