              if youre close to the router i dont see the reason why you wouldnt use an ethernet cable, no lag spikes unless the isp is getting problems, youre not affected by wifi traffic even if they stream hd videos unless you have like 4mbps internet speed, i myself am even running a 20feet ethernet cable from my router to pc and it still is more stable than close range wifi

                  Ethernet cable all the way! My Current PC has really bad wifi, so I got a 150 foot ethernet cable, cause the router is far away from me.

                  My ping changed from an unstable 200-250+ ms, to 75-89 ms.

                  But that's just cause my wifi was so bad on this desktop pc. (on my old laptop, i would get 80 to 100 ms using wifi)
