Why is it that we want to break the rules of the bible and justify it in our head?

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

Well, according to the new testament, Jesus said the law will only disappear once Heaven and Earth disappear.

An all seeing God would not make laws for only one specific time period, unless he said so. Laws do not just "apply to that time", because nowhere does it say so for most of the bible. Only specific cases have said they applied at the time.

So, according to Jesus, do not ignore any of the old testament until Heaven and earth disappear, which means that the things I have said before ARE true.

Sir have you read the bible? You are not supposed to have premarital sex. Sex is the glue to your marriage and when you are joined together you are supposed to stay for the rest of your life. I struggle with this to be honest because of my lack faith, but I long to grow and get blessed with stronger will.

Why would you kill someone who works on a Sunday, Jesus worked miracles on the Sabbath including healing people when the people wanted him not to heal and honor the law and said he said he was lord of the Sabbath and that he not done anything he hadn't seen his father do.

I was raised a Catholic, and I went to Sunday school, so I have read the bible.

Deuteronomy 22:28-29
"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives."

Exodus 35:2
"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death."

i think he's point is that, ultimately, bible was indeed written by men and group of men standardized what christianity means to all and those who dont agree can go fuck themselves. (Nicene Creed). humans pick and choose what to believe and pick and choose how to perceive what is in the bible to their own interest. you have your own opinion of your faith, another of your same faith will have a different perspective. so in the end, men decided what god is by their own will.

by the way, to say "you only need bible and faith" is a very lazy way to say "ignore everything else because they conflict what i've been taught". i'm suggesting, if you truly want to learn of god from all human perspectives, come to your own conclusion as you study all areas because bible matters no more or less than quran or pali canon or vedas. study them all and come to your own conclusion of what god is instead of limiting yourself to one thing because you're too lazy.

why do so many followers of god rely on only one perspective to fulfill one's own desire to understand more?
if one desires to be worship to god, shouldn't one study all available scriptures available? don't read only the bible, at least read all of the abrahamic religious texts to broaden you knowledge, even study greek so you too can understand what apostle paul wrote to spread the words of jesus to the "west".
