xbox 360 Controller connected but not working with fs2 (Windows 10)

Hello,
Can someone please help me with this issue i have been having.
I use to play fs2 using my wireless xbox360 controller all the time on windows 10.
I recently re-installed windows to get all the junk off my computer. I decided to download fs2 again so i could play it again using my controller.
My controller is properly installed but when i launch the game it does not detect the controller anymore. First i thought maybe the game was not installed properly so i reinstalled the game and that did not help.
I can play other games using controller no problem. I even downloaded the steam copy for fs2 but i am having the same problem.

If someone can help that would be much appreciated

Controller does not work for me if I played a game prior that uses controller. I turn off or restart steam to fix it.

I have re-started the computer completely before launching steam/fs2 it still does not detect. It does say "gamepad activated" when i go into a match but i can only use keyboard to control.

If you cant fix it, you can, If using steam, use big screen mode. It allows you to custom bind your controller to keyboard input.

can i get more info on this? any tutorial on how to do this? As long as i am able to play it using my controller would be awesome ..

on steam, click on a controller buttom on top right, or go to one of the menus tab, there should be "big picture mode" or something alike. it comes default, you dont have to download anything.
once in that mode, start game. once game is done loading, press the button to go back to steam. from there you go to controller settings and rebind.

i did this. The controller responds in the "big screen mode" controller settings also show the controller detected but when i go into the game it does not let me use the controller :S
not sure what else to do.

Hey, yes i re-binded the keys for the keyboard but when i go in game it does nothing.

I finally got the controller working.
I went to "https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-us/products/gaming/xbox-360-wireless-controller-for-windows/jr9-00011" and downloaded the "windows 7 64bit drivers.
Then extracted the EXE file with winrar. Then i went to device manager and installed the "xbox3 360 controller for windows Version: 10.0.14393.0 [2016-07-15] by going into device manager>selecting controler/update drivers>Browse my computer for driver software> Let me pick> xbox3 360 controller for windows Version: 10.0.14393.0 [2016-07-15].
This driver was not showing up before.

I hope it helps anyone who is having the same issue.
