  • Dear GM's - Simple suggestion to reduce hacking.

    Remove the name change feature.

This will prevent people from hacking because they will be more worried about their reputation. If they get caught in the eyes of the community they'll have to make a whole new account to be respected again. Which in turn will increase your overall revenue when they create new accounts at their own will.

This will also reduce the amount of hackers reported. I'm sure on numerous occasions people have blown up the forums about a particular hacker, you had to spend hours deleting forum threads and responding to people on the forums. AND THEN the accused hacker changes his name, a month later you have the same wild fire on the forums due to the same account but only you know it's the same account that the people on the forums are talking about. Overall it would reduce the amount of hacking accusations on the forums, which would give you a lot more time out of your day.

Obviously this will not stop the hacks completely but I bet it would take out at-least 40% of the hackers out. If you've spent $500+ on your character and you're pretty well known in the community, chances are without a name change you're not going to risk hacking. Cause we all know once you get caught that name is forever tarnished and disrespected, regardless if GameKiss takes action or not.

P.S Haven't played in a while don't know all the new drama

removing name change wont effect anything , hackers can still take which ever route whether name changing or not (I'm not a hacker I'm just speaking the truth)

I'm conflicted with this solution, but I can't say it's a bad idea. It might help a little bit, but it's certainly not a permanent solution.
My extreme customization wants are conflicting with this though.

You obviously didn't read my entire post and you're WRONG. It has a massive effect. Casual hackers will realize it's not worth their reputation and serious hackers will be forever tarnished and forced to create an entire new character to start a new reputation. Currently cats like G**n The***k and specially L**PF and them, they just get a new outfit and change name and they're back at it. It takes about 6 months to max out a character and about $1000. That's 6 months+ of a serious hacker not polluting the game.

Imagine this, L*bPF keeps the same name since he was G**n. Imagine how many reports they'd have on him? But because they're constantly changing names, reports don't accumulate enough to get them banned and people forget about the old hacker and start which hunting for the new hacker, when in reality, it's usually the same group of people.

Better than doing nothing which is what they've been doing and yet I think it's time to get to the bottom of this shit and ban those freaking disgusting cheaters.
Sports games MUST be all about the skills and the pure sportsmanship. This game is already p2w as f, but I understand that they gotta make ends meet.
Therefore, ban those freaking annoying cheaters if you GMs still care about this game and also for the sake of fs2 players. In the long-run, it will pay off, I promise.

                Sup Mike,

What's stopping hackers from just leveling up a new character or using a friend's account?

Hackers do not have to spend $ on the game, since we'll, they hack.

punishes the good many for the bad few, for a method that will have little to no impact. doesnt help hack prevention: hacker can just lvl a 24 of nonspc over and over or buy account, and if they restart from scratch to re-invest, this helps GK earn more money.

I think the GM's should take time to play and learn the mechanics of the game. It's hard to tell if someone is lagging or speeding if you don't know the mechanics of the game. Experienced Veterans can tell the difference between lag and hacks. Consider this GM's.

This has to be one of the most interesting theories I've heard.

I personally do not believe it will solve much. People generally make new accounts to hack regardless of their reputation. People that already have a reputation will still hack regardless.

Hackers that actually change their names are people who do not give a fuck about their reputations on their previous name. I honestly couldn't give a fk less about some hacking foreign sounding player. I don't think many people care tbh. Sure, it will save you some time in reports, but you could also just add them to your block list. That works too.

Most suspicious people I've seen are people on the free SPC you get once you hit level 50. Most hackers seem to be a PF from the Buzzer Beater collection.

The fact that PF's are so versatile is the reason why hackers will use them. You can literally blame everything on their "cards". What kind of cards give you that much 3 pt success on a PF? My PF literally has +24 3 pt success and will barely ever make uncontested 3's. To see a PF making 3's like a SG with long layup range and mid shot, and can also block and rebound? Suspect af.

Of course, I'm always welcome to try things to stop hacking. Just some personal opinions, but I'd like to see what happens.

Don't remove name changer. Just add the option to see previous char's name when you move a mouse on it. Or something like that.
