  • Freestyle 2 to Steam Account Transfer

Before anyone starts telling me there are no account transfers, I already know. I have read the update on the Freestyle 2 website about Steam.

I am questioning the reason of why GameKiss would not allow people to transfer their accounts. Sure, it may include another step and cause a minor annoyance, but older players could now easily buy Steam funds, in order to buy gkash for Freestyle 2. Most people already have Steam as a PC user, so if GameKiss were to allow account transfers, they would just be capitalizing on old players and new players coming in from Steam. If you were to allow the old players to transfer their GameKiss account to Steam(whenever you do that), that allows them to add funds through Steam and you will be able to rake in more money from past players along with new players that you are bringing in from Steam.

I would buy gkash in the game, but I have a problem with buying online, and I cannot buy a Rixty card due to there being no store nearby that is a seller. I buy Steam cards off of GameStop, and would gladly buy gkash after Freestyle 2 hits Steam, but I do not want to make an entirely new account after I invested hours into the game already. I realize that older players are getting compensated with a OBT package, but it would be beneficial to both GameKiss and the users to allow account transfers.

Steam would also benefit older members because than if players wanted to, they could add each other through Steam and become a more unified community and message each other through Steam if they wished. This would be highly beneficial to the older players.

I would like to do a simple math calculation of a hypothetical situation to show how GameKiss would benefit. These are not real numbers, but let's say there are 5000 older players. Let's also say that out of these 5000 players, 1/20 of the members buy Steam money to buy $10 of gkash. While many may buy more, $10 is the minimum so let us go with that.

Again, these are not real numbers.

5000(older players) * .05(1/20 of the members) = 250 members(members who benefit from account transfers)
    250(members who benefit from account transfers) * $10 = $2500(gross profit)
$2500(gross profit) / 2(Very high share of 50% with Steam) = $1250(funds GameKiss would receive)

A 50% share with Steam is highly unlikely because that is a huge percentage of their profit. I just chose 50% to show that even with a large percentage of their profit being taken away, they would still make plenty of money. I assume it is roughly around 30~40%

So the company would benefit off of over $1000 if even 1/20 or 5% of the older members buy Steam money because it is more convenient to them. Even if this is over a long period of time, it is better than them receiving no money for not even trying to have account transfers, which would most likely cost barely anything to them. This money will pay for any minor troubles of adding account transfers, and will allow a more happy gaming community of older players.

Please allow account transfers, GameKiss. Now I realize my request may be ignored by myself, but if people were to maybe support this thread they would see how much the community would like the transfers. At least half of the votes liking the account transfer idea would be eye opening to GameKiss.
Now there is a poll that is also in this thread, that will have 3 options. You do not have to answer, but it would be greatly appreciated.

Your first sentence was so hypocritical, it makes me kind of laugh. My topic doesn't say anything about not playing with Steam members. I understand that they are bringing the game to old and new members. I said that it would be easier to buy gkash to add funds and it would be more convenient to older players who may want to just have it on Steam and buy gkash that way.

I do not mean to offend you if I have in the post. It just seems ironic you tell me I need to read the update when I have already read it clearly, and it is you who have not "learned how to read". My second sentence already said I read the update about Freestyle 2 on Steam.

I believe if your gamekiss account is linked to steam, some of the money for whatever u buy with gkash in fs2 goes to steam. They dont get the full amount.

Sounds like the problem is for players like you who can't buy gkash online. Doesn't bother me.

It is understandable that it doesn't bother you. but it would benefit more people than harm them as a company. As of right now I have not bought any gkash, even though I would like to because I cannot buy it online. Steam cards are easily found because they are at GameStop stores, which are in many places compared to Rixty card vendors.

So yes, it is not really a bother for people who can buy things online, but not everybody playing online games has a credit card/Paypal or would like to use it that often online. People who can buy things online however would also allow be able to link their account to Steam, making another chat service available for them to use if they want instead of having to alt+tab out of their game(if it is full screen).

Wait... So theyre putting this game on steam, but not making the steam platform available to old users? Is it really that much of a hassle to allow us to log in via steam? I have no problem buying gkash, but to me this seems somewhat lazy. every game i have played which made a transition to a gaming platform, such as steam, has always allowed their old players to use that platform. I feel like i must be misunderstanding this. Members with accounts before steam, will not be able to login using steam? Is that correct? Or am i totally wrong here...

gk is actually smart. if they let us transfer to steam... 99.999999999% of us would. Gamekiss.com would have no purpose cause everything would be on steam. guarantee that package for playing on gamekiss is gonna make us not use steam to play this game.

Do they make money off of us using gamekiss? Steam is just a game platform, all profits from the game would still go to gamekiss/joycity, as far as i know. Take APB: Reloaded for example. You can have your account on Gamers 1st, but you can also download the game on steam, and login/buy funds using your steam wallet. I'm not sure why that wouldn't be the same deal for fs2 short of not wanting to transfer account data. I mean i could be totally wrong here, but it seems like there is no negative from allowing old users to log in via steam, as apposed to the launcher.

I would if prepaid credit cards were free. I honestly don't feel like paying money to buy things with my own money. Steam has no tax in most states and costs the same as what you get. Prepaid cards have a fee for using it and buying it most of the time, along with you having to give your personal information to their company, which I do not really enjoy. I personally try to avoid trying to buy things on any website unless I have been loyal to them for years or they are a very highly well known business, which for Steam, in both cases is true.

You can call me paranoid all you want, but I just really do not like giving away any kind of information to online sources.

Yeah that sounds about right. It seems to me they don't want to do account transfers.

How exactly is this smart? Gamekiss would still be available for the website download, but most people would use Steam because it is more convenient for them. Not all of the members will switch to Steam because maybe they do not like Steam or do not use it. This is true for many other games as well such as all of the Nexon games like Mabinogi, Vindictus, and Maplestory(I'm sure that other companies have this as well, but those are the ones that come from the top of my head). Nexon's company actually profited a lot the year they had their games on Steam. A total of ¥20,780,000,000 or $174,834,815.80 U.S. dollars more was made that year than their previous year. This was the highest increase between years before it.
(I am not promoting Nexon in any way)

Statistics were found by using Statista

Many people have actually benefited a lot more by playing Nexon games on Steam. Not only can they use Steam to launch their games, but they could now use Steam funds to buy their in game funds, along with they got trading cards which promotes the purchases of in-game money, so they would receive a little bit in return if they wish to collect the trading cards or sell them on the marketplace. This same system could be used for Freestyle 2, which would bring in lots of money if they choose to implement the system.

People transferring to Steam doesn't mean it restricts them from going onto the website to look at news, updates, or the forums. Gamekiss's Freestyle 2 website doesn't even have any advertisements on their page, so I highly doubt they would mind if people stopped going to their website anyway, as long as they rake in money through any other means such as their true way of getting money which is gkash(as that is what all businesses really care about).

To me, this is actually be kind of dumb or lazy. They are missing out on profit, which is what a company should want, along with upsetting a few loyal players. The account transfers also helps the community out as well so there is really no reason for them to not have account transfers.

My friend actually just started playing and I told him that he could not transfer his account to Steam, so he is actually refusing to play now until the Steam version is available because playing right now would waste his time because he wants his account to be linked to Steam.

I'm sure that Steam makes some profit someway through GameKiss whether it would be a straight up payment or a percentage of their funds they receive through gkash over Steam. If the second is true, maybe that would be the reason why they want some people who don't use Steam to just give them the full payment. That only logical explanations of why I assume they would not want account transfers is GameKiss is just being lazy or it is to make their old community pay them completely for gkash. Either one of these is kind of a sad reason to not allow account transfers though, because that shows how much they truly care about their community.
