  • General Tips by ManOSun

Here are some pointers to help the beginners and the advance. I don't like bogging people down with a lot of text. So Here's some general guidelines

Here's a list that I call what I see.that players continue to make mistakes on.
    • This is not basketball, I repeat this is not basketball. I see players wanting to dribble past 3-4 defenders and then when a good defensive team come up, they can't do nothing.
    • I see lot of players ball chasing on defense. I see teams loading up to one side cause the ball is in a certain area on defense.
    • I see players passing when its convenient. What I mean by that is they pass when they quadruple team but not pass on a 2-1 or 3-1 break.
    • People rather play on the offensive end than the defense end. I see players trying to leak out but they always off-sides. I've seen certain fast breaks happen cause a team doesn't want to get on defense.
    • They don't think about getting at a good angle to be open for a pass
    • They cry, whine and mope when things aren't going right initially.

Now here's a list of what I see good teams do
    • They rarely ball chase on defense, they balance the field on defense. They "anticipate" the passes. They do one on one close out on players on defense.
    • They spread across the field on offense, almost in a triangle/trapezoid like figuration. They make cuts to the goal or open area of the field.
    • They move the ball side to side. They don't give up the ball, they willingly pass when they see a opening for their teammate. When somebody is dribbling and they get passed a person they automatically know that somebody is open.
    • On defense, they don't always slide tackle. They'll stand in your way or area guard you. They force their opponent to think as oppose to react.
    • Good teams keep the game simple on both ends. They may have a scheme or theory on offense and defense.
    • They learn from their mistakes and communicate constantly when playing.
    • Most importantly, good teams don't give up. I've seen teams comeback on me and I've been on teams where we came back.

Good tips. Lot of people don't understand how to play football game. They always ask "pass fast". I was really want to told them, is not the basketball. All defense was back to them area. Pass fast for what?! They really need to know about the different between football and basketball. Also lot of player they are just stay the defense zone and ask for pass, never move for the open defense. Sometime is very hard play when the people don't understand how to play football. I think, If people don't play football before. They can't be a good player.

Learn to adapt when you don't have the ideal team setup, especially pre lvl 30. For example if you are a forward and your team has another one and 2 defenders, just go and play like a midfielder. Or if you are playing a midfielder and the other midfielder is only on the offensive never defending, just try to play a defensive midfielder. Don't be so stubborn, go and adapt to the situation, this will win you way more games.
