i dont know about the EU server but on the US we have an issue where people log in to the game and ask in the lobby "does anyone play this game". as no one playing the game actually see's chat in this channel they end up not getting any response and log out assuming no one actually plays the game. If these people were able to easily access a list that showed all players online regardless of wether they were in matches, scoring mode, lobby, whatever just everyone logged in to the server. Perhaps it would lead to them being more patient about finding a game or get them motivated to play scoring mode or form a team for AI matches.
