How do you know if a dd is coming when blocking?

I can block everything, except when I have to guess if they are going to dd or not. My teammate thinks I'm dumb cause I couldn't block a normal layup, but they don't have enough knowledge of the game to think that I was waiting for a dd. I seen people timed dd, how do you do so?

Basically its a matter of whether or not you can tell what your opponent will do.Their tendencies and whatnot.

They will tend to dd more when u are in the paint. Also dont wait for dd til they do it 2 times.

Block the ordinary layup like a vd it gives you chance to see if its a dd and you will see if i make sense or not coz i dont know what im talking about i dont have a cool and nice jacket or wwe belt.

idk if this has been said but always go for the first layup, make your team get the dd block instead of getting yourself confused. There are times where you can assume that the person is going to go for a dd (like if you've blocked their normal layups a few times and you've seen the dc before, so you know they have it) then it could be safe to assume that the next layup might be a dc. But even then its just better to rely on your team to get the dc blocks
